Super sight

Every 3d, 4th and 5th of the moon calendar you can go to the hot spring beach here close by. Nong had costumers so I went with them. At early morning we took the long tail boat to the hot spring beach to have a natural mud spa. Surrounded by mangrove, our feet in the hot waterflow, steam steaming up from the river, pink sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf, birds singing and enjoying the feeling of the hot water on your body after showering with cold water for four months. At some places the water feels like it is boiling and you literally feel like you are just the chicken in the chicken soup. But cursing always helps to release some ‘’pain’’.

The girls joining the tour came from Bangkok and were lovely! It felt so good to talk a little with them and who knows, maybe I will see them again in the city.

After the tour we had to refill the gas of the motorbike, at the shop was a lovely squint-eyed cat. (Why so many words for this? Squint-eyed, cross-eyed, skew eyed, swivel eyed?)

I wanted to go to the gong at the tiger cave temple to make some noise:

We walked around that place, many species of old jungle trees, a beautiful flower rooted itself in the tiniest crack in the rocks, amazing. Super complementary colours: the brightest orange moving through vivacious junglegreen. Monks. On a higher spot I found a spirit house. I looked down: old wooden boats on the ground, monks walking by. Stunning.

Nong took me somewhere farther, I have no idea why we did not come here before, but ok. We zigzagged through thorny and curled trees and big green leafs. Bamboo sticks to walk over framed the water. Mosquitos thought: ‘’Blood! Attack!’’. The water was clear, the bottom was sandy. Water and sand bubbled up. A fallen three in the middle of this little puddly pond gave us access to observe the sandy water bubbles more closely. In Thai it is called: ‘’naam phut rueng raa’’ which means ‘’water bubbles of happiness’’. My private tour guide, Nong, told me that when you clap your hands, or make other noise, more bubbles come up. As Aoluk is situated on the fault line, that is where the air comes from. I sticked my hand into the bubbly sand, the vibrating air tickled my hand and it surprised me how deep the holes were, it felt like tubes without a bottom.

When we got home to have some rest we received a call for the next tour. We had to take the major assistent of Krabi Town to the Tham Pee Hua Toe cave. When we were at the place where we had to take the boat, I walked over the pier and at that moment I thought: ‘’I have super sight today!’’. Everything I saw was just so incredibly beautiful! A monkey was walking over the roots of the mangrove trees, purple flowers in a decorated flower pot, an old boat with blistering paint, more flowers, the reflection in the water of the floating bamboo house, two people sitting near each other while bathing their feet, other flowers, insects, everything looked superb.

In the cave were a lot of mosquitos and I decided to apply some mosquito lotion as I sat down. Nong asked: ‘’are you alright?’’. I told him I was. Just two seconds after that I closed the cap of the  the bottle and some lotion decided to hit me in the eye. I don’t know exactly what happend, but it burnt like hell, and something strange seemed to occur with my brain, like it was soaked in toxic liquid. I tried to ask for water, but no one really knew what was happening to me. After a few seconds going through burning hell, I cried the lotion away. Goodbye super sight. I felt weird in my head, sleepy, confused. I heard someone talking Dutch and I said hello to her, but I was not able to concentrate on Dutch at all, it was a mess of English, Dutch and Thai doing Muay Thai in my head, beating each other up. Clearly England was winning the game. ‘’Ik heb mosquito lotion in my eye.’’ and ‘’Heb je de alien drawing al gezien?’’.

Nong finally found a bottle of water and I filled the cap with water and cleaned my eye as much as possible. When the tour ended we had to take the VIPS to the seafood restaurant in Leam Sak. They asked me if I wanted to go there with them. As Nong drove the bike, I enjoyed a comfortable seat in their van. The major assistant gave me fruit, a kind I had never eaten before, but it was delicious! ‘’Take one more!’’ he said, and after that I was forced to eat three more of it. At the seafood restaurant they invited us to join lunch. I don’t really like seafood much, but all the food was very tasty! Someone pared the remained fruit and put it on a plate. Again: ‘’eat, eat! Take take.’’ after the third I told him that it would be the last one for me. After a few minutes there was only one piece of fruit left on the plate and they said: ‘’the last one was for you, right!?’’. Try to prove them they are wrong…
